Exploring Italy’s Cultural Innovation Ecosystem & Collaboration with Kyoto

文化とビジネスが交差する時、そこには新しい価値が生まれる。伝統と革新を結び付け、地域や社会にインパクトを与える——その潮流は今、世界各地で広がりつつあります。なかでもイタリアは、アート、デザイン、食、クラフトといった多彩な文化資源を核に、新しい事業を創り出す文化起業家・事業家（カルチャープレナー）が数多く登場し、文化を軸にしたイノベーションの先進地として注目を集めています。イタリアでは、文化産業を国家戦略分野として明確に位置づける政策が進められ、文化を経済・社会の成長エンジンとして活用する動きが活発化しています。
今回のMeetUp Vol.4では、イタリア大使館貿易促進部よりゲストを迎え、イタリアが進める文化・クリエイティブ産業政策の取り組みをご紹介いただきます。文化を基盤にした事業創出がどのように進み、どんな価値が生まれているのか、その最新動向に触れながら、京都とのコラボレーションの可能性を考えますす。

【ゲストスピーカー】

▲Gianpaolo Brunoさん（Head of the Trade Promotion Section – Embassy of Italy）
With more than 33 years of service at the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), he currently holds the position of Director of the Trade Promotion Section of the Italian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.
From 2019 through February 2024, he was Director of the ITA Beijing Office and Coordinator of the ITA offices in China and Mongolia.
Previously (2015-19) he served as Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan at the ITA Office in Dubai. From 2011 to 2015 he held the position of Director for Strategic Planning, Economic Research, Overseas Offices in Rome and interim Director of ITA’s IT Services, directly reporting to the CEO.
From 2003 through 2010 he was Trade Commissioner for sub-Saharan Africa at the ITA’s Johannesburg Office, South Africa.
From 2000 to 2003, he held the post of Manager of the Economic Research Division at the ITA’s HQ, Rome.
From 1997 to 2000 he was seconded by ITA as Advisor to the Chief Procurement Officer at the World Bank (IBRD/IDA) und afterwards as Advisor to the Executive Director for Italy, Portugal, Greece, Malta, Albania and San Marino at the World Bank Group in Washington D.C., USA.
He holds a M.A. in Economics at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome with full honors, a Master’s degree in public administration (For.Mez., Naples) and a Master’s Degree in IT Governance and Compliance (University of Turin).
He was awarded a full scholarship as “Research Associate in Public Policy” at the Graduate School of Public Policy, University of California at Berkeley, USA (1991-92).
He holds a diploma in Foreign Trade Management (Italian Institute for Foreign Trade – ICE) and in International Marketing (Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA) (full awarded scholarships).
He is a Certified Public Accountant in Italy.
He was Adjunct Professor of International Economics at the University of Milan, Bicocca (2003).
From 2013 to 2015 he was member of the Italian delegation at the OECD’s Committee on Industry, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) and Trade Committee.
For several years he was coordinator of ITA’s annual Report on Italy’s international economic activities.
He is author of articles and publications and trainer in several internationalization programs.
